So this learning experience of really starting from zero is something fortunate I wasn’t doing for the first time. I spent the first two years living with my mother-in-law, and she doesn’t know English, so and I didn’t know Spanish. And on top of, a lot of I relate to is that when I arrived in Egypt in 2009, I really didn’t know a lot of Arabic and when I arrived in in Spain in 2011, I really didn’t know a lot of Spanish. Because of that kind of background and then going into a different kind of background, being in different space has been somewhat comfortable for me. I studied Arabic there, that’s where I met my wife my partner, she’s from Spain, we met there. Then, I got my master’s degree in Near Middle Eastern Studies, because I lived in Egypt. And so I’m very accustomed to being an outsider and perhaps being in different spaces, the constancy of people say, “Well, why are you going to study that?” or “How can you apply that?” Well, there are a million different ways you can apply that, and we’ll probably see a couple more along the way. I went to the University of California at Santa Barbara, and I majored in religious studies, which is not a common thing to study at all. To backtrack a little bit, too and to give even further background about myself see the contrast, but also understand why maybe it wasn’t so strange for me to get involved in this space- taking into consideration the very point you just mentioned that it’s quite niche, is my academic background. Can we talk a little bit some of the ebbs and flows of that journey? There’s lots of ways to contribute- and Bart is an excellent example of that.īart Farrell 03:21 That’s a really good point. You went from a light technical background straight to the deep end, which is very inspirational. Now, there’s been a lot of advancements, but Bart dove into it. The platform wasn’t designed for persistence. And that’s actually very hard since the platform came out six years ago- data has been a weak point. It’s becoming more mainstream, but an area that’s still on the bleeding edge is persistence or data. I’ll try to frame it up for some of the listeners- Kubernetes might be the shiny penny. Bart is in what I would call a crypto community: Data on Kubernetes. But Bart not only went from a non-technical background into helping organize technology communities. So there’s no one road into technology- there’s no one road in, and no one road out. What really amazes me about Bart’s story is that Bart took two leaps of faith back-to-back. He got it he got it kicked off, a few months later, because of some personal commitments, he contacted me saying, “Hey, would you be interested in taking over?” And I didn’t have to think too hard about it- just kind of jumped right in. Last year, a good friend of mine, Demetrios Brinkmann-shout out Demetrios- who had previously started is still running the ML Ops community was invited to start the Data on Kubernetes community last year in July. still doing talent management as a freelancer in a digital marketing agency and a random assortment of other things. And then about two and a half years ago, I started working on my own as a freelancer and being involved in different projects related to audio visual production. I worked there for three years doing talent management, organizing events, starting communities about a lot of different things. Since then, I have been much, much closer to tech. I got recruited by a British software development company that had a development center here in Bilbao, which is in the Basque Country in the north of Spain. I come to tech from the human side, and I got into tech five years ago. I basically got into tech around five years ago I always have to explain this full disclosure: I am not a programmer I’m not a DevOps I’m not a systems administrator, DevSecOps, whatever you want. But anyways, I’m from Northern California originally, but I’ve been living in Spain for the last nine years. As you said, my name is Bart which for starters is already a little bit unique, not very common. Bart, for those of the listeners who don’t know you, why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself?īart Farrell 00:22 Very great to be here, thanks so much for having me. Bart actually runs the Data on Kubernetes Community. I’m very excited today to be joined by Bart Farrell. Ravi Lachhman 00:06 Hi, everybody! Welcome back to another episode of ShipTalk podcast.

The Knight is a lumbering steel-clad menace, slow, but very powerful. Players have a choice of four classes, all with different weapon loadouts, armor, and skills. Combat and weapon variety tie everything together with a grim, skill-based, blood-splattered bow. Yet, amid the slightly jerky animations, the lunatics running around like drunk berserkers, and the cheesy oaths and curses that players can have their warrior utter, the game can still be quite serious. It’s all rather flashy and cinematic, and is more 300 than The Hundred Years’ War. Massive trebuchets punctuate the screams with thuds and the sound of rocks cutting through the air below is the ever present fleet, imposing and vast. Fires light up the crumbling cliff fortress while men shriek as they get trapped in the castle’s many narrow corridors and are unable to swing their weapons, eventually finding a dagger stuck in their chest. The objectives are simple, but the setting makes for an incredibly dramatic battle. I found the most striking one to be Hillside, where one team is attempting to aid a massive invasion fleet - seen off in the distance - by lighting signal fires and destroying trebuchets, while the other team attempts to stop them and halt the invasion. The maps are all designed with the brutal spectacle of combat in mind, like theme-park versions of medieval encounters. Selecting where you attack is just as important as the method you utilize to dispatch your foes. Fatal obstacles like spike pits, perilous drops from bridges, and fire all add another element of risk to a chosen battlefield. The maps are filled with open fields for huge pitched battles and catapult bombardments sturdy castles for ponderous sieges and classic duels on battlements reminiscent of a plethora of scraps from literature and cinema narrow valleys perfect for ambushes and even burning villages complete with screaming villagers. The goal is dependent on your faction, Mason or Agatha, though with four sprawling maps made up out of the smaller maps used in the other modes, both factions get to test their mettle by being defenders or attackers. Objectives are simple things like killing villagers, besieging or defending castles, or assassinating people. The latter is where I got most of my kicks. There are five game modes in total: Free-For-All, Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Last Team Standing, and Team Objective. The objective-based maps have this in spades, especially, but not exclusively. While there’s no real plot, and no single-player campaign, the chaotic flow of each battle creates a narrative filled with tense duels, dramatic sieges, the destruction of villages, and the murder of innocents. A hidden archer had finally ended his reign of terror. Just before I reached him, he jerked forward, and then collapsed. I didn’t relish challenging him, but I had no choice, so I charged and let out a roar. He took out three men that way, killing a fourth with his mace. In one battle, I witnessed a lone maniac guarding a bridge from a whole squad of foes, knocking them down onto the rocks and icy cold water below. It’s all the better for it.Ī battle in Chivalry is made up of countless memorable clashes and moments of the sort one could imagine being recited by grizzled veterans around a camp fire. There’s a serious lack of actual chivalry in Chivarly: Medieval Warfare, and a lot more decapitations, murder, and screaming. I was dead, but I’d managed to murder the last of the Royal Family and win the round. A second later, my head tumbled from my shoulders and landed on top of my victim - I had forgotten about the guard. I switched to my axe and cut him down, slicing into his shoulder and cutting off his entire arm. Past the broken door was a cowering man, whimpering in a poorly lit corner of a dirty room. I raised my own weapon, he blocked, I feinted, and then I ran past him like a desperate mad man. The guard yelled at me and brought down his sword, which I deflected with my shield. Knights challenged me, but I ignored them all as I ran to my objective a broken door and a lone enemy. A fellow soldier standing next to me wasn’t so lucky, and I saw him grasping his throat and gurgling, inhumanly, before crumpling to the ground. Succeed or fail, this would be our final push.Īrrows shot past me, yet somehow, none found me. This was my faction’s last ditch attempt to secure victory. Men roared as they charged at their foes, called out for help when they became surrounded, and shrieked as they burned alive. I was surrounded by the dreadful din of battle. Sav was in my class at school and we would quite often go back to my house at lunchtime and listen to music, as I lived very close to school. Three of the Original Def Leppard line-up went to Tapton School. It was also the school of long-distance runner Sebastian Coe. Tony: Tapton was a pretty decent school in the Sheffield 10 area. I would say Ian Paice from Deep Purple and Brian Downey from Thin Lizzy.Īndrew: Can you provide a background on the Tapton School, where you and Rick met Pete Willis? After that, I would buy something every week by working a paper round – Zeppelin, Sabbath, Lizzy, Yes, Uriah Heep, UFO, etc.Īndrew: Who do you consider to be some of your most prominent drumming influences? The third was On the Level by Status Quo. The second album was Deep Purple, 24 Carat Purple. My mates at school introduced me to lots of stuff later on and the first LP I bought was the Queen album, Sheer Heart Attack. It lead to me buying my first record which was My Friend Stan by the UK band, Slade. Tony: My earliest introduction to music was probably the BBC TV program, Top of the Pops. What was your earliest introduction to music? To start, I first would like to hear about your backstory. I recently had an opportunity to catch up with Tony to discuss the evolution of Atomic Mass into Def Leppard, his earliest memories from his brief, albeit integral tenure with the band, his recent endeavors, and much more.Īndrew: I appreciate you carving out some time to do this, Tony. Elliott would later appear at an Atomic Mass rehearsal and was subsequently offered the opportunity to front the band - a title he’s held prominently for 44 years. In a case of serendipity, Willis happened to cross paths with a singer named Joe Elliott - who had missed his bus and opted to walk home - on his way back from rehearsal. The budding Rock act also included a talented young guitarist named Pete Willis, but still needed a singer to complete the quartet. See our review on Def Leppard’s feature of Sixx’s Sixx’s song “ Maybe It’s Time“.Though often overlooked and relegated to a mere footnote in the band’s illustrious history, drummer Tony Kenning played a vital role in laying the foundation for world-renowned Rock act, Def Leppard.Ī student at Tapton School in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Kenning joined forces with classmate Rick Savage to form a band called Atomic Mass and began rehearsing at the school’s youth club. Joe Elliot talked about why fans should listen to the new album-according to BlabberMouth, “If you’re a Def Leppard fan, I would imagine there’s always a need to listen to some new music, because as much as it’s great to have this massive back catalog of music, new music is what keeps a band alive, so we wanna share that with our fans.” You can view the full tracklist below. Young street apostles with their hallelujah peddles.” Def Leppard talks about having the thrill of rock and roll. The first verse gets the adrenaline going, “Jukebox gospel, raise it up another level. “Fire It Up” starts off with a soulehette of the team, then a flash of light reveals Def Leppard with the pre-chorus. The gang doesn’t hesitate to get right on to their killer track. The video already has over 170,000 views on Youtube, reaching up to their audio video. They also gifted fans by releasing their own music video for “Fire It Up”. The IDrive software tool is one of the most popular backup applications. Let me know if ive missed anything or a song feels off where ive placed it. lol hope this isnt against the rules since i specifically am uploading a piece of the game and not the iso itself. This means you need to have a Txr3 iso, thats up to you where you get it from. you just need to build your iso with replacing my patched BUILD.DAT file. If anyone wants to test out what ive done ive created a torrent file. I still need to fix the length of the songs so they repeat and dont just stop till the end of the file. I didnt change everything however, i left in tracks that felt txrz from the game. So what is now a Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 game with the music of Tokyo xtreme Racer zeros. I then cut and pasted those songs into the BUILD.DAT file padding them with zeros to maintain the file size. I changed txrzeros interleaves and frequency to that of the music in txr3 With mfaudio(converting to. I used mfaudio and adpcm player to find the offsets and lengths of the music files in the 2 games raw music data. so i reverse engineered the elf file for while but that was useless since theres is no source code so i eventually came to the best and easiest solution. Well to cut to the chase I dont like to give up on something once i have it set in my head and so badly had to play this game with txrzeros music in it. What a shame too since this game has great game play and such an improvement in tuning settings that i was taken back by when it came out. I eventually gave up after i defeated the 3rd main boss car(forgot her name yet just played her again the other night.). this made it a hell of a lot more enjoyable but was a pain to keep flipping to the right song to fit the mood. I tried hard to get into txr3, i even played the game with the bgm settings turned down and my ipod with txrzeros music playing off my speakers. I had sooo much good times playing txr zero with i was younger and the sound of that game really got me into the races. When i first played this game i really couldn't get over it and just felt like a different game to the series all together. This game never felt like a real Tokyo extreme racer game solely because it lacked that sound the previous games had. well it didn't take me long to realize that why i had never finished it was because of the music. Hey this has been a project i decided to work on half a year ago, it all came about when i decided to pick up txr3 and play it again since i had forgotten why i never finished it. When the tank is overcrowded, the fish often gets stressed out and resorts to fin-nipping! Like many other types of tetras, they are peaceful and do best in groups. When kept in an aquarium with a dark substrate, the color and shimmer of the fish are much more apparent.īlue Tetras need natural decor and an uncrowded tank to feel safe. Hints of pink really bring out this fish’s shine. The stripe is located on the base of the tail and gradually fades out at about the mid-point of the body. Accompanying that base color is a bright blue stripe. The body is covered in iridescent silver. It has a similar profile and shape as other tetra species that you might be familiar with. The Blue Tetra is a cool-colored species that comes from the Amazon River Basin. The fish will eat just about anything, so provide a balanced diet that’s rich in vitamins and nutrients. You can improve color even more with a great diet. This is great because their coloration tends to pop in low-light conditions. They prefer things to be a bit more subdued. Like some other types of tetra, Flame Tetras don’t like a ton of light. So, you must provide slow-moving water, fine sand substrate, and plenty of plants. They do best in tanks modeled after their natural habitat. In the wild, Flame Tetras are usually found in coastal rivers of Brazil. The lower half has a vibrant splash of red, creating a fire-like appearance. But, the sides take on a bronze orange hue. Most of the fish is shiny silver in color. Their scales produce a deep purple sheen in low-light conditions, giving them the appearance of royalty. With a bit of patience, you can easily induce spawning and raise a healthy population of Rummy Nose Tetras!įound throughout rivers in Colombia, Emperor Tetra is a beautiful species. It’s also quite easy to breed in captivity. This fish is very passive and easy-going. But if you have a spacious tank, you can add even more! These are schooling fish that will swim together in unison, creating an impressive show. They should be kept in groups of at least six fish. This unique combination of colors and patterns make for a very interesting-looking fish! It has horizontal stripes of clean white and staunch black. You’ll see some neat detail on the tailfin, too. It offers a nice contrast to the rest of the body, which is neutral silver. The entire head of the fish is covered in bright red. The scales have an iridescent sheen, producing tones of purple and turquoise, too. The aptly named Bloodfin Tetra is an interesting species with a lot to offer in the looks department. It helps them feel more confident and safe in their surroundings. Like most tetra species, Congos are peaceful and non-aggressive. Be careful about live plants! Congo Tetras are notorious for nipping leaves. The fish do fine on dried commercial foods but also enjoy nutrient-rich live snacks every once in a wild. They prefer warm temperatures around 76 degrees Fahrenheit, neutral pH levels, and low hardness. When it comes to care, Congo Tetras are pretty easy-going. This creates an eye-catching display regardless of your tank’s decor. The fins are considerably longer than most types of tetras, too. Hints of gold, violet, and bright orange make up the rest of the body. Half of the fish’s body is covered in beautiful iridescent blue. A list of the characteristics of 2D Shapes. However, in the visual sense, 2D shapes appear flat and 3D shapes appear three-dimensional. Maternal and highlight applying these shadows and areas of value will give The form a sense of shape. These sections will include three sections, dark, mid tonal, and light. Faintly draw a line, which extends from the cone’s apex to its base. Add value and shading by splitting the shape into three sections. To give this drawing the appearance of a three-dimensional shape, draw the line at the bottom. Turn the V shape around and then join both edges with a curved line. The simplest method to draw a three-dimensional cone is first to draw a V shape. The prism is a transparent shape, and to render its transparency in pencil, you can draw faint lines that represent the obscured edges of the form of the prism. This method creates a simple three-dimensional shape that resembles a prism. Next, draw lines to the three corners on the left side of the triangle. The simplest method is to draw an equilateral triangle onto a sheet of paper, ensuring that each line is of the same length. The Prism. There are several different methods used to draw a prism. To finish ordering the rectangular prism, join the corners together for eight three-dimensional shapes. Draw three diagonal lines from each corner to make sure they are the same length and all at the same angle. To begin drawing a red long rectangular shape. A rectangular prism is similar to a cube. Remember to take the pressure off the pencil when applying value. Gradually, apply tone from one side of the form to the other side. Begin to add dark areas of turning on the left side of the cylinder. To add tone to this drawing, create three faint guidelines using a pencil. To draw the base of the cylinder, create a curved half oval shape. Next, using fake lines, draw two parallel lines down the page. To begin, draw an elliptical oval shape onto the paper. The Cylinder. Another simple three-dimensional shape is a drawing of a Cylinder. To give the drawing a sense of 3D shape, apply tone with a pencil, and separate the circle into three dark-mid-tonal zones. Drawing of the ellipse in the center of the circle will create a three-dimensional form onto which tone and value. Next, draw elliptical curves from one point to the next. Measure halfway down and draw a light point on each side of the circle. Join each of the corners of the cube together using two lines. To the right side of the cube, draw three diagonal lines. To begin drawing the cube, draw a square shape, ensuring each of the sites is of the same length. The Cube. The first form I wish to explain is the solid cube. How to Draw Basic 3D Shapes?īefore beginning drawing three-dimensional shapes, it is always a good idea to practice drawing basic shapes, using a piece of paper and a pencil to begin sketching basic shapes to achieve this. Just like any other drawing technique, perspective requires regular to improve and become an expert. This begins with drawing of a Cube one point perspective. Learning to draw these shapes and forms is, therefore, essential to make progress with drawing. Most regular and irregular forms in the real world are all basic shapes and three-dimensional forms. The drawing of basic shapes and forms will enable the drawing of more complex shapes with confidence. Many people find drawing three-dimensional shapes difficult, so it is always advisable to practice his necessary drawing skills to become proficient in them. Paperclips. A small but essential item of equipment will keep paper in place while drawing at any angle. Ensure that the drawing is clean and that it will not create marks on the paper beneath it and smudge the pencil guidelines that were initially drawn. With the advantage of being able to create guidelines without the need for rubbing out and erasing.ī Grade Pencil. The softer dark outlet integral to the B grade pencil is suitable for drawing darker outlines in drawings that use perspective.ĭrawing Board. Drawing boards are a useful item of equipment in that they will enable drawing on a surface at a slight angle, which makes the process of creating drawings and perspectives much more comfortable.Ĭlear Ruler. A basic clear plastic ruler will suffice when creating technical drawings. HB pencil. The basic HB pencil is the right choice for drawing basic guidelines when creating drawings in perspective. Here is an essential list of what you will need to begin. What Equipment Do You NeedĪ few essential items of equipment are required to create a 3D drawing. This post will describe several ways in which a beginner can progress from drawing simple basic shapes to drawing 3-D drawings in perspective. Built with ConvertKit How to Draw 3D Shapes |
